H4Plus is the result of more than twenty years of his work across multiple species. His focus has always been the same: healthier animals, less waste, a lighter footprint on the land.
A ruminant scientist by training (PhD, Royal Veterinary College) who has spent his career at the meeting point of animal science and commercial farming. He leads Herbi4's mission to get H4Plus into the hands of working farmers, on terms that make the farm more profitable and the herd healthier.
Matt grew up in a hill farming community and watched the people around him work the hardest land for the thinnest margins. That experience shaped everything Herbi4 stands for: the conviction that the farmer should be paid first, and that good science should serve the people who feed us. He has spent his career building businesses, and Herbi4 brings that back home to the communities that raised him.
Tom first met Kelly Duncan while studying at Canterbury University in New Zealand, and spent his university summers working the High Country stations of the South Island, so he has followed Kelly's work for years and seen first-hand what it does for farmers. Last year Tom and Matt started Herbi4 to take two decades of that science to farms around the world, with Tom bringing his background in AI to turn the research into a product any farmer can put to work. Tom and the team are builders and dairy people in equal measure, and they love cows.
